The Dunja — a shift dress with structured Ottoman sleeves, laid-in pockets, and a box-pleat at the lower back that gives freedom of movement without breaking the line. Button and sling closure at the nape. Black silk bias tape finishing.

In wool-silk mikado — midnight blue or slate grey. A fabric with substance and quiet sheen. As a made-to-measure piece, the Dunja can be made in any fabric and colour. Book a consultation.

Named for my elder sister, who fitted the first sample. The fit was so natural, so in sync with her body and personality, that the dress became hers before it became anyone else's.

Wear it under the Charlie trench with pointed flats or ankle boots. Or on its own — the Dunja needs very little.
